About
Aware Recovery Care Massachusetts provides an innovative “Recover Where You Live” methodology for treating addiction in adults 18 and older. Their in-home addiction treatment (IHAT) program merges at-home visits with virtual support, along with concierge services tailored to individual requirements. Aware Recovery Care employs a biopsychosocial framework that incorporates evidence-based therapies, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), personal counseling, family support, and collaborative care with external healthcare providers.
The philosophy behind Aware Recovery Care centers on empathy, support, and the conviction that every person has the right to pursue lasting recovery. By focusing on the specific needs of each client and offering ongoing assistance in their home, the center aims to help individuals transition to a healthier, more fulfilling life free from addiction.
Each participant is assigned a care coordinator, who may be a nurse or social worker, along with two client recovery advisors (CRAs) who serve as peer mentors and coordinators throughout the recovery process. They evaluate the necessary external care and organize appointments with the primary care provider (PCP), therapists, medical specialists, and a family education facilitator. Should clients already have established providers, Aware Recovery Care’s medical director facilitates communication and coordination of care. The family education facilitator aids loved ones by providing them with insights into addiction and recovery, helping the family unit to heal together.
The treatment program at Aware Recovery Care is structured to last from one month up to a year, with monthly extensions available. It features up to 20 virtual one-on-one therapy sessions with an Internal Psychotherapist, where clients can work on managing stress, boosting self-esteem, nurturing self-compassion, and enhancing communication skills. Negative thought patterns are also addressed and reformed during these sessions.
A day in the life of a client at Aware Recovery Care typically includes an hour-long session with a member of the care team, which may be supplemented by an in-person visit from one of the CRAs or a remote consultation with their therapist. Monthly meetings with the Care Coordinator ensure alignment of the treatment with the client's evolving requirements and goals, as the care team consistently engages to adjust the approach as necessary.
When clients reach the completion of their treatment at Aware Recovery Care, they undergo a personalized discharge process designed to fit their individual treatment plan and home situation. This involves a detailed discussion of their discharge strategy with the clinical coordinator, which encompasses continued interaction with support networks, setting future goals, and arranging aftercare appointments with licensed providers who have been part of their recovery journey.
