Balance House

Situated near the Wasatch Mountains, Balance House offers a dedicated inpatient program designed specifically for young adult men grappling with challenges related to substance use, alcohol, or everyday life. Residents will engage with a primary therapist while also having opportunities to explore various creative activities such as music mixing, writing, digital art creation, or even engine assembly, which are integrated into their therapeutic journey. The program not only addresses substance use but also co-occurring mental health issues, empowering participants to flourish in their personal lives. Upon arrival at Balance House, each client is gifted a longboard, which they will personalize through a building and design project. The program includes moonlit rides down Provo Canyon during full moons, adding a unique element to their experience. Comprehensive therapy incorporates nutritional support, fitness, sleep management, social connections, diagnostic assessments, family involvement, and medication-assisted treatment as necessary. Social activities play a crucial role in Balance House's approach, fostering community and peer relationships. Participants can enjoy camping, hiking, biking, skiing, and snowboarding trips, depending on the time of year. Additional pastimes include longboarding, boating, and paddleboarding, with group therapy sessions sometimes held on the water. Residents benefit from shared accommodations, an on-site recreation facility, outings to sports events, and the chance to join various sports teams. Although Balance House operates as an out-of-network provider, they collaborate with select insurance plans and also accept private payments. The typical duration of treatment at Balance House is around four months.
