Grandma's House Family Involvement Center

Founded in 2021 as a branch of Flint Odyssey House, Grandma’s House upholds a dedicated mission to assist families in need. Specializing in outpatient services, including an intensive outpatient program (IOP), the center caters to expectant parents and those raising children and teenagers as they navigate their recovery from substance use. Combining professional expertise with a family-focused approach, it aims to foster enduring positive change. The center provides individual, group, and family therapy sessions, along with recovery coaching and educational classes for parenting. Its preventative programs are designed to fortify familial bonds and enhance sustained recovery. With a team that includes three clinicians, a recovery coach, and a program coordinator, clients are equipped with the tools and support required to regain stability and optimism. Inviting and friendly, Grandma’s House boasts a snug area for child care and an indoor-outdoor reading nook. Adorned with secondhand furnishings that evoke the warmth of a grandparent’s home, the facility also features a kitchen and oven to facilitate family life skills. In the outdoor space, a community garden allows families to engage in planting, cultivation, and learning—promoting connection, accountability, and the feeling of belonging.
