The Institute of Living (IOL), a facility within Hartford HealthCare, offers treatment for both adolescents and adults in Connecticut dealing with various mental health issues, such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders that occur alongside these conditions. Among the anxiety disorders treated are generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), hoarding disorder, illness anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, school refusal, separation anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, various phobias, hair-pulling, and skin-picking disorder. Patients can access their treatment records both during their care and post-treatment using the MyChart app or website. IOL offers a variety of care pathways, including residential, day, intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient services. Their treatment options are grounded in evidence-based practices and incorporate approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and medication-assisted treatment (MAT), alongside numerous group therapy experiences.
