About
High Watch Recovery Center, founded in 1939 as the first-ever 12-Step treatment facility, has since guided countless individuals from the challenges of substance abuse toward lasting recovery. The center provides a range of services, including inpatient care, intervention, an extended care program, intensive outpatient therapy (IOP), transitional sober living options for women, and robust aftercare support. For clients needing greater flexibility, High Watch also features online Telehealth IOP and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Each individual in the inpatient program undergoes a personalized bio-psycho-social assessment to develop a tailored treatment approach that suits their specific requirements. A dedicated 12-Step coach is assigned to each client for one-on-one guidance. The center hosts an Empowering Women in Recovery group, aimed at helping women identify and embrace their strengths while addressing the unique challenges they encounter in their recovery journey. Topics explored include enhancing self-worth, fostering self-care practices, setting boundaries, and tackling the difficulties women face during recovery. For those aged 50 and older, High Watch offers a specialized group to discuss the distinct issues affecting this age group, like relationships with adult children and grandchildren, grief over lost loved ones, retirement planning, health problems associated with aging, and reflections on mortality and future aspirations. Additionally, the Relationships in Recovery group provides clients with tools to build and sustain healthy relationships. Located on 200 acres of picturesque woodlands in Connecticut's Litchfield Hills, High Watch Recovery Center is a residential medical facility that offers advanced treatment for substance use and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. Its inviting environment features comfortable bedrooms, communal spaces, and a fitness center, all set within the natural beauty of Connecticut. Onsite equine therapy is also available, promoting skills such as impulse control, accountability, self-confidence, and healthy coping mechanisms. High Watch is accredited by the Joint Commission, a member of NAATP, and holds LegitScript certification while accepting private insurance.
