About
Located in downtown along Route 1, Liberation Programs' Stamford branch offers counseling services in both residential and intensive outpatient (IOP) formats. The residential facility can accommodate up to 64 individuals concurrently. While most sessions are conducted in-person, the center is also equipped to arrange telehealth consultations when necessary.
Liberation Programs focuses on meeting clients at their current stage in recovery, employing a harm reduction strategy. Their offerings encompass individual, group, and family therapy, alongside medication-assisted treatments such as Buprenorphine, Naltrexone, or Suboxone, aimed at curbing cravings and promoting engagement in the recovery process. For those not yet ready to completely cease substance use, the center prioritizes overdose prevention and provides Narcan (naloxone) for emergency overdose situations.
For women who are pregnant or raising children, Liberation Programs offers dedicated inpatient services addressing both personal and family needs, incorporating trauma-informed therapies. Mothers are permitted to bring along up to two children aged 0-10. The Families in Recovery Program (FIRP) is designed with specialized life skills training and peer support to ease the transition for both mothers and their children back into the community.
Beyond direct treatment, Liberation also implements preventative initiatives aimed at helping both adults and youth in the area avoid future addiction or mental health challenges. Their team includes recovery coaches, including those with specific expertise in supporting pregnant or parenting clients. For families in need of housing during their recovery journey, 18 housing units are provided. Additionally, mobile outreach vans are available to deliver treatment referrals, medication prescriptions, and educational material. The staff actively participates in community events and school programs to raise awareness about substance use issues.
