Previously recognized as Milestone Foundation, this nonprofit facility located in Maine caters to adults facing challenges related to substance use, mental health issues, and homelessness. It provides various services, including long-term residential treatment, transitional housing, emergency shelter, and mobile outreach. Aimed specifically at men, the center emphasizes dignity, connection, and recovery, with access available regardless of insurance status or financial capability. The supportive atmosphere fosters safety, empowerment, and stability for individuals aspiring to achieve meaningful change. The extended care program incorporates evidence-based interventions such as trauma-informed individual and group therapy. The dedicated staff work with men who have struggled in shorter treatment programs, employing a phased and supportive methodology tailored to meet each individual’s needs. Participants also benefit from case management and recovery-oriented services that prepare them for reintegration into the community. Progress With Assistance Residents share accommodations in a structured residential environment. They are provided with healthy meals, clean clothing, and shower facilities. Transitional housing includes a step-down home that offers more independence and sober apartments to assist clients as they transition into work, education, or outpatient services. The mobile HOME Team delivers rides, crisis intervention, and facilitates connections to care across Portland and South Portland.
