Milestone Recovery, previously referred to as the Milestone Foundation, serves as a rehabilitation center focused on addressing issues related to substance abuse and homelessness. The facility features a dedicated emergency shelter specifically for individuals dealing with substance use disorders. This 41-bed shelter for men offers a secure environment where residents can enjoy wholesome meals, access clean clothing, take showers, and receive counseling, all while being treated with respect. The center also assists individuals in moving towards stable and permanent housing solutions. Milestone Recovery provides medical detoxification alongside gender-specific residential accommodations. The residential treatment divisions for males and females are situated in different locales within Portland, Maine. Men reside on the primary campus, while women are accommodated in the North Deering area. The residential program fosters a nurturing space, encouraging participants to engage in educational or vocational pursuits. The women’s residence is notably affordable, with a monthly fee of just $595. Transitional housing options are also extended to those graduating from the residential treatment program. Milestone employs research-backed treatment approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and group therapy sessions.
