The term Kasa Speranza translates to "house of hope," where seven residents engage in a unique experiential model grounded in 12-Step philosophy. As an extended care program, Pathways of Hope emphasizes spiritual renewal, the 12-Steps, and enriching clients’ recovery journeys. The center does not provide detoxification or primary addiction treatment but focuses on aftercare through an immersive connection with nature and wellness. Offering an exclusive extended care initiative known as 7-7-7, the program allows clients to spend seven weeks in seven different Ecuadorian locations while progressing through the 12-Steps following the Minnesota/Hazelden approach. With only seven participants allowed at a time, the program fosters intense spiritual and emotional rejuvenation, complemented by the expertise of a culinary specialist and a personal exercise coach. Each setting promises luxury and comfort, accompanied by breathtaking natural beauty. At one site, an authentic experience with an esteemed shaman from Otavalo enhances the spiritual aspect of the week, linking residents to sacred sites and their inner selves. Throughout their stay, attendees explore their surroundings, balancing learning with recreation. Clients can embark on their journey with Pathways of Hope four times a year, with each session spanning seven weeks. Natural therapies and 12-Step practices connect individuals to their Higher Power, cultivate resilience, and provide essential tools for maintaining sobriety in the future. The entire 7-7-7 initiative is designed around healing and fulfillment, with the number seven symbolizing completion in various cultures and traditions. For Pathways of Hope, seven stands for profound recovery, rejuvenation, and optimism. This family-operated venture is driven by a husband and wife team: the husband serves as the primary counselor with three decades of experience, while the wife manages the house with her extensive background in the field. They are supported by a skilled team of recovery professionals. Two of their sons also contribute, with one preparing gourmet cuisine and the other providing physical fitness training. By navigating the 12-Steps and concentrating on recovery strategies while exploring stunning locales throughout Ecuador, each guest at Pathways of Hope is empowered to renew their hope and acquire valuable lifelong tools for their recovery.
