About
Long Description:
Located close to the Akron Fulton Airport, Restore Addiction Recovery is a free, four-phase residential recovery center for men grappling with alcohol or drug dependency, as well as co-occurring nicotine addiction. This smoke-free environment offers various activities, including worship sessions, gardening, cooking classes, and art nights. There are also opportunities for offsite outings like bowling. Onsite parking is available for visitors.
The program at Restore Addiction Recovery spans one year.
In Phase 1, known as Foundation, participants engage in 30 days of individual and group counseling to familiarize themselves with the program and fellow residents. At the end of this initial month, participants must decide whether to continue into the subsequent phases over the following 11 months. During this phase, phone calls are not permitted.
Phase 2, named Discovery, encompasses family engagement and work responsibilities from months 2 to 5. Participants work biweekly, with earnings going towards funding Restore. Family members are welcomed on the fourth Sunday of each month for visits.
In Phase 3, termed Application, participants participate in morning devotionals and work up to 40 hours per week during months 6 to 9 and receive wages for their labor. They also receive training on life skills related to financial and legal matters while maintaining family visits on the fourth Sunday monthly.
Phase 4, called Launch, focuses on helping participants transition out of the program in months 10 to 12. It prepares them to envision a life in recovery and explore ways to contribute positively to the community.
Restore Addiction Recovery is aimed at adult men eager to change their lives and open to a Christ-centered approach. Entry into the program must be voluntary, with participants not having any sex-related or arson charges, active warrants, or being under parole or probation reporting phases. Participants are required to undertake hands-on tasks and chores, with no allowance for disability claims while in the program. Usage of Suboxone, Subutex, Sublocade, or methadone is prohibited.
The center collaborates with Grace Church’s nearby Bath and Norton campuses. Residents do not incur costs for their stay; instead, Restore receives funding from partner businesses that employ participants during the second and third phases. Additionally, it welcomes donations and prayers, sharing updates through a newsletter.
