During their outpatient programs, clients can choose to live at home or in a connected sober living facility. Clients have the flexibility to select specific treatment levels or transition smoothly throughout the continuum of care to enhance their rehabilitation experience. The most comprehensive outpatient service, day treatment, operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, offering clients a range of evidence-based therapeutic methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, art therapy, and engagement in the 12-Step framework. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) allows clients to attend sessions from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, three to five days a week, with virtual sessions available in the evenings from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday. General outpatient care includes multiple hours of support each week. At River Oaks Outpatient Center, every participant receives a personalized recovery plan tailored to their individual requirements. A dedicated team comprising a physician, nurse, primary therapist, and case manager evaluates the clients’ backgrounds in addiction, mental health, and physical health. This team reviews client progress weekly and suggests modifications when necessary. Treatment approaches may incorporate one-on-one therapy, group sessions, and family involvement as requested, along with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when appropriate. The center also runs psychoeducational and didactic groups aimed at educating clients and their families about addiction and the recovery process. Twelve Step meetings take place on-site and are accessible both during and after the treatment period. River Oaks Outpatient Center also provides options for independent sober living. Their sober living home features shared living areas and kitchens where clients can prepare and share meals. Transportation is arranged for both treatment sessions and group activities. The center maintains a robust support system through their alumni network, an alumni app, and various support meetings addressing topics such as grief, loss, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and strategies for preventing relapse.
