Stonington Institute

Stonington Institute has a rich history of promoting recovery, with its roots tracing back to 1957 when it was known as Starlight Farms. It has evolved into a facility dedicated to assisting individuals struggling with addiction and mental health challenges, including PTSD. Presently, the institute offers a wide range of programs based on the 12 Steps framework. Their offerings encompass inpatient detox, residential care, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) paired with a transitional living space, and various outpatient options. Additionally, Stonington Institute provides a specialized program aimed at active duty military members and veterans. This initiative tackles the distinct challenges encountered by those in the military, addressing issues such as substance dependency, PTSD, and other mental health concerns. Through a holistic treatment approach, the program combines therapy and support tailored to meet the unique needs of veterans and active service members, empowering them to confront and resolve their struggles.

This facility specializes in the treatment of substance use disorders alongside related mental health issues. Each individual receives a tailored treatment plan that considers all conditions simultaneously, ensuring a supportive and holistic approach to recovery.

Stonington takes private payments and works with the majority of major insurance providers, including TRICARE®, which was previously referred to as CHAMPUS.
