The Kahm Center for Eating Disorders

Nestled along the banks of Burlington, Vermont, The Kahm Center for Eating Disorders is a family-operated outpatient care facility focused on assisting individuals with eating disorder recovery. Established by a mother and her son, the center emphasizes tailored treatment that combines medical knowledge with psychological support. By employing metabolic assessments and moving away from traditional weight-centric approaches, it combats stigma and improves recovery outcomes. The center offers intensive outpatient (IOP) and day treatment programs, providing a balance of structure and flexibility. IOP sessions are typically 3 hours long, held three times per week, while day treatment features 5-hour sessions, five days a week. These programs include individual therapy, group therapy, nutritional guidance, and supervised meals designed to foster lasting recovery. The Kahm Center welcomes individuals aged 16 and up, ensuring gender-inclusive care. As an outpatient facility, it enables clients to maintain their everyday activities while receiving comprehensive support. The center also offers transitional programs, alumni services, and continuous outpatient care to assist individuals in maintaining their recovery over time.
