Hillcrest Transitional Housing

Hillcrest Transitional Housing provides 90-day transitional housing solutions for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Facilities are located in Independence, Lee's Summit, and Sugar Creek in Missouri, as well as Overland Park and Kansas City in Kansas. The program, available at no cost for eligible participants, features life skills education, financial guidance, and case management within a nurturing community setting. Participants are expected to seek and maintain 35-40 hours of work each week to facilitate their transition to self-sufficiency. Hillcrest Transitional Housing promotes a drug- and alcohol-free environment. Additionally, Hillcrest offers a transitional housing program that can extend up to 24 months for adolescents and young adults aged 16-24. This initiative takes place in locations such as Independence, Missouri, and Kansas City and Overland Park in Kansas. Participants focus on achieving financial, educational, employment, and personal goals while attending life skills workshops, receiving case management support, and engaging in part-time job opportunities. Furthermore, Hillcrest provides case management, financial support, and housing placement services for youths, adults, and families residing in Clay, Clinton, and Platte counties. To qualify for this program, clients must be living in a vehicle, on the streets, in emergency shelters, or escaping situations of domestic violence.

The center provides comprehensive care for mental health disorders alongside related substance use problems. Here, you will receive tailored, cooperative treatment that focuses on both aspects to promote overall wellness.

At Hillcrest Transitional Housing, we prioritize accessibility and support for individuals and families in need of transitional housing services. Our programs are designed to assist those facing homelessness, and importantly, we offer these services at no cost to qualified participants. We aim to alleviate financial burdens while providing essential resources to promote independence and stability. Clients engaged in our transitional housing programs for adults and families are not required to have insurance, as our services are provided free of charge for those who meet eligibility requirements. This includes our comprehensive offerings such as life skills training, financial counseling, and case management to ensure participants can successfully reintegrate into the community. For our young adult program tailored for teens and young adults ages 16-24, we similarly do not require any insurance coverage. Participants have the opportunity to work on critical life skills, budgeting, education, and employment goals without the stress of financial obligations. In addition to our transitional housing programs, Hillcrest Transitional Housing also provides case management, financial assistance, and housing placement services for youth, adults, and families in specific counties across Missouri and Kansas. Eligibility for these services is based on current living conditions, ensuring assistance is directed to those in urgent need.
