About
Hope is Alive (HIA) Ministries adopts a faith-based method for treating substance use disorders. This initiative originated from Lance Lang’s journey to recovery from addiction, supported by his wife Ally's efforts throughout the process. HIA views addiction as a chronic condition and emphasizes the strength found in prayer and community, believing that recovery can impact the entire family. They prioritize replacing harmful habits with constructive ones, recognizing that emotional expression is essential to the healing journey, and affirm that hope exists. The center offers a women's residence in Kansas City, Missouri, and a men's program in Kansas City, Kansas.
The sober living program at HIA places emphasis on addressing the underlying emotional issues linked to substance use, aiming for a "transformative life change.” Their gender-segregated housing primarily features shared bedrooms, complete with fresh bedding, dressers, lamps, and personal kitchen access. New residents are advised to bring a Bible, food and non-alcoholic beverages, clothes hangers, laundry supplies, towels, and enough clothing for a month.
In addition to providing accommodation, HIA maintains a rigorous schedule for its residents. Participants are encouraged to join a local 12-Step program, seek full-time jobs in the area, and partake in enjoyable outings such as ski trips and retreats. They attend monthly mentor meetings, services at a local church, an evening house meeting every Sunday, a Bible study on Mondays, and a group session on Wednesdays, all starting at 6:30 p.m. local time. The curriculum is tailored to the individuals' needs, and support for legal matters is available if needed. Monthly community service opportunities are also provided. This comprehensive program runs for 12 to 18 months, with the majority of residents opting for the full duration. The cost is $750 for the initial month and $650 for subsequent months, with random drug testing conducted to uphold sobriety.
Based in Oklahoma City, Hope is Alive extends its support nationwide via sober living programs, family therapy, retreats, a YouVersion Bible reading plan, and partnerships with churches, corporations, and schools. They showcase endorsements from notable figures such as Craig Groeschel on YouTube and have collaborated with Groeschel, Tim Tebow, Brandon Lake, and Ben Fuller for various retreat initiatives. Updates and information about regular and special events are shared through their RADICAL magazine and blog.
Additionally, Hope is Alive provides complimentary family support through their Finding Hope initiative, where they focus on nurturing, supporting, and praying for one another. They conduct meetings bi-monthly for durations of 60-90 minutes. Their Hope After Loss counseling service assists those grieving a loved one lost to addiction.

Providers Policy
At Hope is Alive Recovery Homes - Missouri, we are dedicated to providing accessible and effective treatment for individuals struggling with substance use. We understand that the cost of treatment can be a significant factor for many families, and we aim to facilitate a smooth process for our residents.
Our sober living program charges a monthly fee of $750 for the initial month and $650 for each subsequent month. To help individuals focus on their recovery, we encourage residents to seek full-time employment nearby, which can assist in covering these costs.
While we currently do not accept insurance, we are committed to working closely with residents and their families to explore alternative payment options. We suggest reaching out to local resources and community programs that may provide financial assistance or support for those seeking help.
Additionally, we offer a free family care program called Finding Hope, which provides ongoing support for the families of our residents. This initiative reflects our belief in the importance of community and support in the recovery journey.
If you have any further questions about our payment policies or available resources, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to guide and support you every step of the way as you pursue recovery and healing.
