For more than 45 years, Lafayette House has dedicated itself to aiding women in overcoming trauma, addiction, and experiences of domestic and sexual violence. This nonprofit residential initiative caters to individuals facing both mental health issues and substance use disorders, including those related to alcohol and opioids. Participants can choose between residential and outpatient care options, with services designed for mothers that allow them to stay with their children. Lafayette House adopts a trauma-informed methodology, employing various therapeutic techniques like motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and relapse prevention strategies. Those in need can receive medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and are supported by case management, peer mentoring, and support groups. Additional offerings such as parenting workshops and life skills training aim to enhance daily living, all while creating personalized treatment plans that reflect each woman’s unique aspirations and requirements.
