About
The Dena A Coy Residential Treatment Program, part of Southcentral Foundation, is dedicated to assisting women—including those who are pregnant, parenting, or without children—who face challenges related to substance use and emotional or mental health issues. This program provides a supportive residential environment that fosters healing through a culturally-informed approach. Mothers can have their young children, aged 3 and under, reside with them during their stay.
The focus of Dena A Coy is on the holistic well-being of individuals—addressing their mental, physical, and spiritual needs. Participants engage in both individual and group therapy sessions that cover essential topics such as parenting, managing anger, fostering healthy relationships, relapse prevention, and coping with anxiety or depression. These therapeutic activities aim to enhance women's coping mechanisms, emotional growth, and preparation for a healthier lifestyle within their families and communities.
Accommodations typically include shared rooms with one other resident, but mothers with children can request private rooms that come furnished with a crib or toddler bed along with changing facilities. The program also caters to residents' nutritional needs by providing daily meals and snacks, and it holds Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) certification. A kitchen is accessible at all hours for light snacks and beverages. Dena A Coy aims to create a serene and supportive atmosphere where women can concentrate on their recovery and the process of rebuilding their lives with dignity and assistance.
