Turning Winds

Turning Winds is a residential treatment facility tailored for adolescents aged 13 to 18 who are grappling with mental health issues and substance use challenges. Employing evidence-based methodologies, the center also crafts tailored academic programs for each teen. Situated in the beautiful mountain landscapes of Montana, this center leverages its serene natural environment to foster a healing and restorative atmosphere. The commitment of Turning Winds lies in offering comprehensive and individualized treatment plans for every participant. The residential program encompasses a variety of diagnostic evaluations and clinical interventions, including weekly one-on-one therapy sessions, multiple group therapy meetings, discharge planning, and 24/7 supervision. The therapeutic services comprise cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and equine therapy. Additionally, day treatment (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are available for those ready to transition back to everyday life while still needing ongoing support. Their dedicated care team includes licensed medical and mental health professionals who prioritize compassionate, client-centered treatment. At Turning Winds, academic success is a fundamental objective. Teens have access to experiential learning, leadership training, resources for college and career preparation, field excursions, and the integration of technology into their studies. The staff is fully credentialed and equipped to deliver individualized educational plans that reflect each student’s prior academic records, learning challenges, strengths, and specific needs. With class sizes averaging between 8 and 12 students, teachers can devote ample attention to each learner. Set on a generous 150 acres along the South Fork Yaak River, Turning Winds offers a peaceful and spacious setting. Clients reside in comfortable shared bedrooms and enjoy nutritious meals crafted by professional chefs. The beautiful surroundings also provide chances for adventure therapy, experiential therapy, and recreational activities. On-site amenities include a fitness room, basketball court, soccer field, softball diamond, and sand volleyball area. Clients can partake in outdoor pursuits such as hiking, mountain biking, skiing, rafting, and swimming, both on and off the premises.
