About
Arizona Women’s Recovery Centers (AWRC) offers a thorough, woman-focused treatment program grounded in evidence-based practices aimed at empowering women, including those who are pregnant or have children, facing challenges with addiction and accompanying mental health issues. The center delivers a holistic approach to recovery through outpatient services designed for women and their families living together in a structured, sober environment.
AWRC provides a variety of services, including safe and sober therapeutic communities alongside peer support initiatives. It features supportive housing specifically for women navigating legal issues, those who are single and not parenting, as well as mothers and pregnant women. Residents enjoy apartment-style accommodations, with each individual or family having access to a fully furnished living space and 24/7 support from the on-site staff.
The staff at AWRC includes certified counselors, career advisors, a nurse practitioner, GED tutors, peer support specialists, and case managers. Treatment opportunities consist of both individual and group therapy, family counseling, vocational training, educational resources, transportation services, clothing support, along with psychiatric and medical assistance.
Additionally, AWRC provides extensive career development and vocational training through its on-site thrift store, Sustain, where women can gain work experience and enhance their resumes. The center is committed to supporting women facing prolonged employment challenges caused by mental health issues, trauma, and domestic violence. Their mission focuses on helping participants achieve and maintain employment while promoting economic independence and sustainable living.
Clients at AWRC also benefit from a structured living environment that incorporates trauma-informed care within an outpatient framework. Treatment progresses in three distinct phases: during the first phase, clients attend three group sessions weekly, concentrating on addiction education, grief handling, parenting strategies, the 12-Step program, and relapse prevention. The second phase includes two weekly group sessions, focusing on boundary-setting, healthy relationships, behavior modification, and developing positive coping mechanisms. Finally, the third phase consists of weekly meetings, providing ongoing support and reinforcing life skills essential for sustained recovery. Throughout the entire program, clients have access to individual, group, and family therapy, parenting coaching, dual-diagnosis support, career guidance, and much more.
