Cygnet is committed to ensuring a supportive and welcoming environment for men facing mental health challenges through its specialized inpatient rehabilitation services, concentrating on facilitating their reintegration into the community. This program is ideal for individuals with mental health issues, including conditions like schizophrenia, mood disorders, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, and depression, particularly those who have had unsuccessful treatment attempts or are under the Mental Health Act. The focus is on men whose primary diagnosis is mental illness, who may also be dealing with issues like substance abuse, mild learning disabilities, or autism spectrum disorders, or who need extended support for acute mental health conditions. The center employs a variety of therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic therapy, family therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, and drama therapy, tailoring treatment to meet individual needs. Patient-centered care is a priority, involving clients in the development of their treatment plans and the overall recovery process. Individuals are accommodated in two distinct wards, each offering different levels of support based on personal requirements. Most clients begin their recovery in a 20-bed lodge after transitioning from acute care or secure services. Additionally, a 15-bed house provides transitional support, arranged in a separate corridor with individual living spaces, helping clients prepare to return to their communities while practicing their acquired skills. Amenities available to clients include en-suite bedrooms, a therapy kitchen, recreational areas, art rooms, gardens for horticultural therapy, relaxation rooms, a classroom with computer access, a gym, and more. Cygnet Oaks employs a comprehensive strategy that incorporates occupational therapy, psychological support, and clinical interventions, aiming to empower men to improve both their personal and professional capabilities as they work towards rebuilding their lives.
