Rio Retreat Center at The Meadows provides a variety of weekly workshops focused on topics such as trauma, relationships, self-improvement, grieving, and addiction recovery. Located in Wickenburg, Arizona, experienced therapists at the Master's level lead these sessions utilizing psychoeducational techniques, experiential approaches, the 12-step method, and other research-supported therapies. Workshops take place from Sunday through Friday, starting each day at 7 AM. The center also features sessions tailored for specific genders and mindfulness-based groups. In addition to workshops, Rio Retreat Center offers an array of activities, including yoga, Tai Chi, barbecues, games, art and music therapy, acupuncture, and equine-assisted therapy. The cost for lodging ranges from $700 to $1,400 for each workshop session. Reflecting the charm of a traditional dude ranch, the accommodations consist of private rooms as well as shared rooms in the Bunkhouse. These rooms are equipped with wifi, cable, and are tastefully furnished with either a queen bed or twin beds, each having an en suite bathroom. While clients are undergoing treatment, all meals are provided and expertly prepared by an in-house chef. The meals, designed by a nutritionist, are nutritious and organic, with snacks also available at the lodge.
