ARTS, which stands for Addiction Research and Treatment Services, operates under the University of Colorado’s Department of Psychiatry and has been a key provider of mental health and addiction treatment in Colorado for many years. The organization aims to combine clinical research, education, and proven treatment methods to tackle substance use disorders while promoting long-term recovery for adults in need of outpatient services. The Adult Outpatient program offers a comprehensive selection of addiction treatment options, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with medications such as methadone, buprenorphine, Vivitrol, Antabuse, and naltrexone. The program provides various levels of care, including outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), and aftercare services, all supported by a range of therapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing (MI), and family support. This program caters to adults aged 18 and over, with tailored care available for women, individuals with HIV, and those engaged with the criminal justice system. The Adult Outpatient clinics accept Medicaid, select Medicare plans, and private insurance, with sliding scale payment options available. With several clinic locations throughout the Denver area, such as Parkside, Westside, and Potomac Street, the program ensures that care is accessible with early weekday hours and some Saturday services, facilitating prompt intake and continuous support throughout the recovery journey.
