Sandhill Center is a residential facility designed for children aged 8 to 13 who face significant difficulties in their current environments due to emotional regulation challenges. This center primarily assists children grappling with emotional control issues, those on the autism spectrum, and those dealing with conditions such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, among other behavioral issues. The program offers therapeutic support, educational services, medication management, opportunities for community engagement, and a variety of recreational activities. At Sandhill Center, children engage in weekly individual therapy, family counseling, and animal-assisted therapy, alongside community service activities. Recreation plays a vital role in the program, with regular outings that include biking, running, games, horseback riding, and visits to local museums and sports events. All residents attend Del Rio Academy, an accredited private school located on-site, which combines experiential learning, technology integration, and traditional classroom instruction to enrich their educational experience.
