About
Since its establishment in 1994, Vista Taos Renewal Center has offered residential treatment options for adult men and women dealing with alcohol and drug addictions as well as dual diagnosis of mental health issues. Clients typically stay for about 28 to 30 days, with costs beginning at approximately $24,000. Before admission to the residential program, individuals undergo a physical examination and psychiatric assessment, leading to the formulation of personalized treatment plans. If needed, medically supervised detoxification is provided on-site. Vista Taos implements the 12-Step approach as part of its program. Weekly therapies encompass both individual and group sessions, as well as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings, relapse prevention, grief counseling, therapy focused on trauma, and study of the Big Book. Various therapeutic modalities are employed, including creative arts therapy, family therapy, equine therapy, experiential therapy, life skills training, motivational interviewing, and sound therapy.
The team consists of Master’s-level addiction counselors, licensed clinical social workers, a residential director, an extended care director, an equine specialist, a clinical nurse practitioner, a 12-step coach, a massage therapist, and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor II.
Vista Taos holds accreditation from CARF, accepts a variety of insurance plans, and offers financing solutions for clients.
The residential facility draws inspiration from the ancient Native American community of Taos Pueblo. It accommodates 18 individuals in gender-separate areas, featuring cozy and welcoming shared rooms adorned with Southwestern designs. Residents enjoy meals at a large wooden table in a spacious dining area decorated with American Indian art. A private chef prepares all meals from scratch, ensuring options for diverse dietary needs, including vegan, vegetarian, heart-healthy, and kosher meals.

Providers Policy
At Vista Taos Renewal Center, we understand that navigating the financial aspect of treatment can be challenging. We are committed to making our comprehensive residential services accessible to a wide range of clients. Since our establishment in 1994, we have partnered with various insurance providers to ensure that most insurance plans are accepted for our services.
Clients entering our program will receive individualized treatment plans developed after an initial physical exam and psychiatric evaluation. We encourage potential clients to contact their insurance provider to verify coverage details, including specific benefits for addiction treatment and mental health services.
In addition to accepting insurance, we also offer flexible financing options to accommodate those who may require further assistance in managing the cost of treatment. Our priority is to support you or your loved one in accessing the essential care needed for recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
For any questions regarding our insurance policies, accepted providers, or financing options, please do not hesitate to reach out to our admissions team. We are here to help guide you through the process and ensure that you receive the support you need on your journey to recovery.
