About
The Prestonsburg Counseling Center, a division of Addiction Recovery Care, provides a range of outpatient services, which encompass both individual and group therapy, meetings for 12-Step programs and Celebrate Recovery, peer support, targeted case management, and medically assisted treatment (MAT). They cater to individuals through intensive outpatient programs (IOP) offering flexible scheduling, specifically tailored for clients who do not require medically supervised detox.
During a typical day in the IOP, clients engage in a combination of personalized individual therapy and group sessions that address their specific needs. Evidence-based therapies are utilized alongside faith-oriented support meetings, such as Celebrate Recovery. Additionally, the program features vocational training to help clients develop essential job skills. Integral to the daily routine are peer support and targeted case management. Classes are available 3 to 5 days a week, with options for morning, afternoon, and evening scheduling.
Noteworthy aspects of the program include the availability of same-day care appointments, vocational training, and career support aimed at assisting clients in re-entering society with clear objectives. The vocational training focuses on equipping clients with necessary skills for employment, which can enhance their job prospects and assist in sustained recovery. This training covers a variety of practical skills customized to align with participants' interests and local job market needs. Clients may learn resume writing, interview techniques, computer literacy, and specialized skills such as carpentry, culinary arts, or customer service.
Emphasizing a faith-based perspective, their approach incorporates spiritual care services, chaplaincy support, and recovery meetings rooted in faith, including AA and Celebrate Recovery. These initiatives promote a reliance on a higher power, harmonizing with Christian principles. ARC’s comprehensive model underscores the significance of spiritual health alongside physical and emotional well-being, ensuring a compassionate and all-encompassing recovery process.
