About

The Lackey Residential Treatment Center by Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) provides a tailored and comprehensive program specifically designed for men struggling with addiction. Focusing on a holistic model, the treatment addresses the entirety of the individual—mentally, physically, and spiritually. The process starts with thorough assessments, medical stabilization, and a residential environment that ensures ongoing support throughout different phases of recovery. Services offered at Lackey encompass medical stabilization, one-on-one and group therapy sessions, spiritual guidance, 12-Step program participation, wellness initiatives, and job training opportunities. A standout aspect of Lackey is its robust vocational training programs. By marrying substance abuse treatment with job training, ARC’s Crisis to Career program empowers those dealing with substance use disorders to re-enter the job market and lead meaningful, productive lives. This initiative features workshops aimed at skill development and practical training experiences, including the Peer Support Specialist Program (PSSP) and the Second Chance Automotive program. The Peer Support Specialist Program (PSSP) equips individuals in recovery with the skills necessary to assist others facing similar challenges. The curriculum includes recovery strategies, clinical approaches, essential life skills, and health and safety knowledge. Participants can earn Kentucky Peer Support Specialist certification and accumulate up to 28 college credits. A distinctive element of this program is the Creative Arts PSSP, which employs artistic mediums like theater and music to promote peer support and ensure recovery. Second Chance Automotive offers specialized vocational training aimed at those in recovery, teaching them the skills required to become ASE Certified Mechanics. This program effectively blends addiction recovery with hands-on job training, providing participants with real-world experience in automotive service. It supports their journey from recovery to stable employment, enabling them to lead constructive and stable lives. Since its inception in 2016, over 80% of participants have successfully maintained employment while remaining actively in recovery, showcasing the program’s impact on achieving lasting success.
