About
Lydia's House is a detox and residential facility exclusively for women, situated at the base of Black Mountain, specializing in the treatment of substance use disorders. The center offers a holistic therapeutic program that includes CARF-accredited clinical services and medical care overseen by an addiction specialist. Emphasizing a Christian framework, Lydia's House incorporates 12-Step support and chaplaincy services. Additionally, it provides vocational training to empower residents.
The first phase of their structured 4-phase program concentrates on eliminating substances from the system and formulating an individualized care plan. Upon admission, medical staff conduct comprehensive physical and psychological evaluations to customize the treatment approach. The medical detox process ensures a secure and monitored environment for safe withdrawal from drugs or alcohol, including medication-assisted therapies when necessary.
The residential treatment at Lydia's House is delivered through a Christian and holistic lens, aspiring to address the individual as a whole—mind, body, and spirit. Support from addiction specialists is available around the clock. Clients participate in both individual and group counseling sessions based on evidence-based practices to uncover triggers and cultivate healthier coping mechanisms. The program also includes meetings for AA, NA, and Celebrate Recovery. Following residential treatment, clients can transition into intensive outpatient care with an option for sober living, allowing ongoing support while integrating back into daily life.
In the second and third phases, the focus shifts towards peer support and acquiring practical skills needed for re-entering the workforce or education. Lydia's House continues to offer spiritual life development, ongoing individual and group therapy, and regular 12-Step meetings. Life skills programs include specialized job training and educational offerings. In the final phase, participants engage in internships designed to enhance practical life skills. Upon finishing the program, clients earn a Health and Human Services certificate from Sullivan University, which can be applied toward their 2-year associate or 4-year bachelor’s degree programs.
